My life Journey

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

As many of you already know I landed on the island of Australia around 3 months ago, in that time not much has happened really but there are a few events, moments and feelings worth mentioning.

The day I Passed the CCNA test

On one sunny day I had booked my CCNA(Cisco Certified Network Associate if you must know) exam, the exam was on 5:00 pm ( According to CISCO if you are more than 15 minutes late you cant take the exam), I was checking out the university till about 1:30pm came back thought to my self I would sleep for about and hour and then revise a little and head off to meat my inescapable destiny, to make the long story short I woke up at 3:30 , I was so freaked that this what I remember of the period between 3:30 and 5:15 : 1.Got into train which took an extra 15 mins than usual … ( Murphy’s Law ) 2.Got into the wrong tram …. Twice !!! (Murphy’s law again ) 3.Running like hell in Albert Road … ( people thinking there is some kind of life and death situation ) 4.Getting to 8th floor to discover that I was in the wrong building ( Damn that Murphy ) 5.Walking in the exam centre exhausted , thirsty and unable to move at 5:15 6.The man in the exam Centre’s first words “Relax!!! you can still do the exam”

After that I calmed down, had a drink of water and chatted with that guy over there. The interesting part was when I handed the man My ID he stared at me and asked are you originally from Palestine ?, I remember I was pretty surprised when he asked that question, but he turned out he was an Egyptian, so it made sense, anyway I started the exam, barely passed but yes I FREAKING PASSED, thank god I passed the exam, the man even gave me a 70c chocolate, as soon as I came out I informed my brother, mum, dad and my roommate. The same day I passed it was my brothers B-day so we went bowling afterwards, I even managed to get a one strike!!! – Here are some pics from that evening

1st Day of Ramadan

It was the first of Ramadan so me, Hassan, Hameed and my younger brother headed of to Sydney ( which is basiclly a road filled with arab shops, signs and people) so after eating at this really wonderful arab pastry shop and listening to arab music, after that I went to this arab café and had a sheesha ( for the first time in months ) , during the sheesha we played dominos and listened to a few Arabic songs and swears here and there , it really brought up similar memories in Jordan, especially the swearing.

Swinburne University

The uni I go to is pretty good, I really don’t want to sound racist or anything but its full with Asians and Indians , I really wouldn’t mind in a normal condition, but its just too freaking much , I want to get along with some Greeks, Italians, Lebanese and Australians for heavens sake I am in Australia .

Anyway thats it for this blog , I will inshalla be bloging more in the following days about certain things I like and dislike about living here.
